Public Relations Officers of the Year

By John Sugg, VP-PR

Bob Fisher, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, a member of the Keystone Capital Chorus in the Mid-Atlantic District was awarded the plaque as PROTY winner for a year-round program.

The very long list of his accomplishments during the year 1998 includes the planning, execution, and wide sale of the very first CD by the Chorus. A professional in the field of PR, Bob was responsible for a myriad of newspaper clippings and other media coverage that was unceasing for the entire year, with saturation coverage of the 50th annual show of the Keystone Capital Chorus.

Art Lane, a member of the Holland, Michigan, Chapter, The Holland Windmill Chorus of the Pioneer District, was chosen for the single event recognition. This single event was nearly four years in the planning, resulting in a large number of the Windmill Chorus taking an 8-day tour, visiting fellow barbershop choruses in the Netherlands.

Art was the sparkplug of the entire endeavor, from planning to promotion to funding to making itinerary and scheduling appearances while in the Netherlands. He also sings bass in the chorus and Four Buck a Chord quartet.
