1- Harmony, where it exists at all, has never been an important element of the Chinese musical style, a style in which melody predominates.

2- Yes

3- Tsinghua University (China’s most prestigious university) in Beijing in November of 2001, in which a Mini HEP School was held. The students were primarily Chinese choral directors.

4- The success of the program in Beijing led to a similar program in Hebei Province

5- The Chinese evidently love it. In fact, two all-Chinese quartets appeared in the 2002 International Competition in Portland, OR.
